The swaying branches of the coconut trees ruffle overhead. Casting shadows on the golden beach sand. The sparkling blue water covers the sand and the sound of the waves meeting the beach. Drifts into the steel drums of the reggae music.
The daily hustle and bustle. Gone. Paradise arrived.
This is a day in St. Croix. An island located South East of Florida and a short flight away from the mainland. And part of the US Virgin Island.
St. Croix, US Virgin Islands
St. Croix is also home to Kite and Paddle St. Croix. A business that has been in operation for over 15 years. Run by a couple with a passion for island life and the many activities that surround it. Bill Kraft, a professional Stand Up Paddler, Kiteboarder, Dive Master and Captain. Isabelle Picard, Bill’s wife, professional paddler, kiter, windsurf and world renown artist. They can be found on the water daily. Doing downwind stand up paddle runs, paddling the lagoon or kiting.
Entering into my third week on the Island, feels more like a lifetime. The arms wide open welcoming that this place provides. And loads of adventures just steps away. I am beginning to understand why these two two call this place home.
Stand Up Paddleboard, Kiteboard, Snorkel or relax.
The next three months our calendar is filled with events. We have kiteboard and paddle lessons. Downwind clinics. Night paddles. SUP yoga and SUP fitness classes and a SUP Disco night.
Fun nights, adventure filled days. Unless a ocean side beach chair is more your speed. Because those are on the calendar. Daily.
Whether a long weekend away from reality is calling to you. A vacation from the snow. Or a winter training session on the water. Kiteboarding or stand up paddling we can help accommodate you. We have a cottage on site that sleeps a couple or single person. Numerous beautiful hotels close by. Or larger beach homes if you are traveling with a group or family.
If you are from the US you do not need a passport to travel to St. Croix. If Island hoping is of interest then we strongly suggest brining one as the British Virgin Islands are close by.
Depending on when you are looking to travel, flights on the East Coast are under $500 and the West Coast $600. Hotels can start at $100 per night. A rental car is a great addition to see the island in its entirety, rates start around $45 per day. As for our excursions, they can be built for your needs and for your budget.
Bring the family, friends or fly solo. We’d love to share this tropical paradise with you. See you soon.
